OK, this one certainly isn’t something I’d ever play at my “normal” wedding or club events, but if you have an interest in the evolution of club / dance music, take a listen. The tracks in this mix were released between ’78 and maybe ’85 or so, and represent the period bridging late disco and early house music. This was the type of music that was being played at some of San Francisco’s historically notable gay dance clubs (The Trocadero Transfer, Dreamland), by some of San Francisco’s top DJs (Bobby Viteritti, the amazing resident DJ at the Trocadero from ’79 to ’82, would be one very notable example who should be credited with the advancement of the technical art of DJing) back in the early 80s.
