DJ Jeremy February 2012 Italo Disco Mix

OK, here’s another TOTALLY non-wedding related mix I put together last month and am finally getting around to sharing. It’s another 1980s Italo Disco mix, but this one is much more “textbook” Italo than my last mix – lots of the happy 80s movie soundtrack style filler stuff (Laserdance, Timerider), some of the quirky stuff (Dharma, Casco), and a few of the cheesy (but, of course, endearing) vocal tracks (Chris Luis, Lime etc). So again, not music I would ever play at my normal wedding or corporate events, but just my own personal fetish fulfillment on this one.

Here’s a link to an hour long segment of the dance mix I played on 2-20-11 at a wedding over at the Foreign Cinema (a popular restaurant in San Francisco’s Mission District). Once again, this mix contains everything from the Beatles to Deadmau5, and is reflective of the mixed demographic I had on hand.

Mixing Bollywood/ Bhangra with American music…

I’m asked this question all the time, and the answer is of course, yes. Here are several videos that demonstrate me doing so…BTW, while I won’t necessarily be putting any “Desi” DJs out of business any time soon, I’m quite well versed in both Bollywood film music and Indian Bhangra music – kind of a personal favorite genre of mine.

These two videos were taken on the new HTC Incredible. I was excited about this new phone as it can record in HD, but to be honest, I was pretty disappointed with the results. The microphone is pretty dodgy at high decibel levels, and the video in low light conditions is sketchy. I guess the Flip Video cam isn’t getting retired any time soon.
