Playing to a mixed demographic crowd, Part 1…
Here’s the first 30 minutes of my dance set I recorded live on 4-23-11 at a wedding over at Cavallo Point in Sausalito…
FYI, I was playing for a crowd with a large number of 50+ year old guests who were interested in dancing, but also a large number of mid 20s to very early 30s guests. So this is representative of a more conservative “opening” mix with very mainstream tracks intended on getting everyone out on the floor at the beginning of the night. The mix is certainly beat-matched and seamless, but nothing too tricky going on here – pretty by the numbers mixing intended on being non-offensive to the older folks.

HEY DJ JEREMY I LIKE THE WAY YOUR LBOG PAGE IS SET UP. I’M IN THE PROCESS OF DOING MINE BUT HAVING SOME PROBLEMS. I DO A LOT OF MIXED AGED CROWD PARTIES AND WEDDING BUT NOW IM SET UP WITH NOT ONLY MIXED AGE GROUPS BUT DIFFERENT ETHNIC GROUPS. THIS WILL BE MY FIRST TIME PLAYING FOR A LARGE SCALE CROWD OF DIFFERENT RACES. DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS? I NORMALLY PLAY HIP-HOP, R&B, POP, REGGAE, LATIN, AND COUNTRY BUT LIKE I SAID ITS FOR A SPECIFIC GROUP. THIS WILL BE THE FIRST TIME MIXING ALL THIS DIFFERENT GENRE OF MUSIC TOGETHER TO PLEASE THE CROWD. PLEASE CONTACT VIA EMAIL.HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
