This is the full audio from the open dancing portion of a wedding I handled on 5-22-10 at the Flood Mansion in San Francisco. Its over 3 hours long, and is pretty reflective of a mixed demographic wedding – the early part of the set is VERY mainstream, targeted towards the older guests, and like the rest of the set, incorporates some specific client requests (there were a few cheesy tunes requested by the clients like “Sweet Caroline” and “Old Time Rock and Roll, I generally wouldn’t play songs like “Baba O’Riley” in my typical dance sets, and its not that often that I would drop a Frank Sinatra song five songs into a dance set!). As the night progresses, you’ll note the music turns more towards current Top 40 and hip-hop, with some 50s-60s-70s-80s classics, a bit of Motown, a little house/ electronica, and few slow songs (which were also specific client requests, I’m not a big fan of playing a lot of slow songs in a dance set unless the client specifically wants them). So, this set is educational for those who wonder how I might go about handling (and mixing) music at an actual wedding where the flavor of the music runs from Frank Sinatra all the way to Chromeo.
